Assessment, Instruction, and Learning. . .

 

What are Content Standards ?

They are statements that describe what kids should know and be able to do by the end of each grade level.

Visit the Ohio Department of Education's website where parents can access information on content standards.

Ohio's Instructional Management System (IMS) is the vehicle for communicating State Board adopted model curricula. The IMS has links to:

     Standards-Based Education
     Learn about using standards-based education as a process for improving instruction
     and learning.  Learn about Ohio's standards-based education system and how it supports
     educators in helping students reach a higher level of understanding.

     Academic Content Standards
     Browse the academic content standards. Standards provide clarity for what all students
     should know and be able to do at each grade level.

     Teaching, Learning, Lessons and Units
     Learn about planning standards-based instruction and building lessons and units that
     incorporate the academic content standards. Here you will find a lesson and unit builder
     and sample lessons and units to kick-start the development process.

     Assessments
     Learn more about classroom and state assessments as well as to view retired
     state assessment items.

     Nation's Report Card
     Build or revise  your own quizzes from the Assessment Questions Bank at the
     Nation's Report Card website.

     The Ohio Resource Center
